David B. Pleat was recently admitted to practice before the 11th Circuit United States Court of Appeals located in Atlanta, Georgia.   The 11^th Circuit Court of Appeals handles all appeals from the United States District Court Northern District of Florida.

David Pleat was named to the Cultural Arts Alliance Board of Directors.  The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is a Local Arts Agency that supports the arts through leadership, advocacy, funding, programs and education.

The vision of the CAA is to be the catalyst for Walton County’s growth as a destination for cultural and artistic excellence through which lives are enriched, economy is stimulated and community is strengthened.

Pleat & Perry is proud to announce that Amy Perry, Esq. received the James D. Neilson, Sr. Chairman’s award for Volunteer Service to the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce.  Amy also received an award for her years on the Destin Chamber Board from 2009-2016.  She is a past Chairman as well.

David Pleat, senior partner of the firm, recently obtained a successful verdict from Federal Judge Richard Smoak in a Federal Court trial in the Northern District of Florida.  Mr. Pleat represented a commercial fishing enterprise sued for approximately $1 million dollars plus punitive damages.  At the end of a multiple day trial, Judge Smoak ruled in favor of Mr.
