Elizabeth V. LaFollette recent guest speaker at the Society for Human Resource Management

Liz LaFollette Destin Attorney Business LawElizabeth V. LaFollette was a recent guest speaker at the May monthly meeting of the Society for Human Resource Management - Emerald Coast Chapter.  Liz’s practice focuses primarily on representation of management in labor and employment law matters, including litigation in both state and federal courts, representing businesses before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board, and counseling and advising businesses regarding compliance and litigation avoidance. 

She is particularly experienced counseling employers regarding their obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family Medical Leave Act.  Ms. LaFollette earned her J.D. degree, with high honors, from the University of North Carolina in 1997 and her B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Arizona.  Before relocating to Florida and joining Pleat & Perry in 2010, Ms. LaFollette was a partner with the North Carolina law firm of Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard, L.L.P.  Ms. LaFollette has been a speaker at numerous employment law seminars for various professional and trade association groups.
