PLEAT, PERRY & RITCHIE, P.A. Announces Addition of Navarre Attorney

Robert Collins Navarre Attorney at LawPleat, Perry & Ritchie, P.A., a full service law firm with offices in Destin, Navarre and Rosemary Beach, announces that attorney, ROBERT G. COLLINS, has joined the firm’s Navarre office. 

Robert Collings was born and raised in Hubbard, Ohio. Upon graduating from High School, he entered the U.S. Army as an E-1. He was a combat engineer and assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. Shortly after he served in Operation Urgent Fury (Grenada), he was assigned to 7th Special Forces Group as a Special Forces Engineer (SFODA).
He left active duty in 1988 to attend college. He worked for the Federal Express Corporation as a courier, was a member of the Alabama National Guard, and attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was recalled to active duty in 1991 for Operation Provide Comfort in Northern Iraq with 10th Special Forces Group.  Upon leaving active duty, he attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. While attending law school he worked at the Eaton County Juvenile Court and Prosecutor's Office and the Illinois National Guard.

Robert began my legal career in Miami, Florida as an Assistant State Attorney.  He transferred this employment to the Public Defender's Office in Pensacola, Florida and was employed at this office for 15 years.  While working at the Public Defender's Office, he served as the Chief Assistant Public Defender for Okaloosa County, Felony Supervisor in Escambia County, and Misdemeanor Supervisor in Santa Rosa County.  He was recalled to active duty for Operation Iraqi Freedom and served in Jordan with 5th Special Forces Group; most recently he was recalled for duty at European Command in Stuttgart, Germany.  While in the military, he progressed from E-1 to E-8 before accepting a direct commission as a Judge Advocate, and later became branch qualified as a Special Forces officer. He has over 29 years of military service, the majority in Special Operations units, and continue to serve in the Army Reserves today. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1997 and the Federal Bar a short time later. He has served on the Florida Bar Okaloosa-Walton County Grievance Committee and was a member of the Pensacola Chapter of the Inns of Court.  He is a present member of the First Judicial Circuit's Bench and Bar Professionalism Committee and on the Board of Directors for the Northwest Florida Drug and Alcohol Counsel.

He has lived in the Navarre area since 1998 and thoroughly enjoys the beach and the people of our community. He served as Secretary of the Holley by the Sea Homeowners Association during and after Hurricane Ivan passed through our area. He enjoys quail hunting, training bird dogs, surf and inshore fishing, and sailing. He is also an avid ham radio operator and enjoys restoring old vehicles. He believes his vast and diverse life experiences assists him in providing the best possible legal services to PP&R clients. He is active in the local community, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Gulf Breeze Masonic Lodge.  He speaks English, Spanish, and some Portuguese.
